The Communion table from my retreat, where we talked about our bodies. Eventually we got around to talking about our scars on the insides, too. My primary text was Jacob wrestling, then getting up limping, changed, and blessed. I talked about how each of us have things that make us limp, keep us from standing up straight, and those things can also bless us. And we can all bear the light, bent over, limping...and share it with others. It was a powerful sight, dripping wax and all.

A very powerful image, both of all of our limps and of the candles, still able to light the way, no matter their shape (and the flame will rise!)....
