RevGalBlogPals Friday Five

1. Do you enjoy a good fright?

Not really. I've had enough in real life lately!

2. Scariest movie you've ever seen

I avoid them, but I'm thinking it must be one of those really old ones like The Exorcist, or Halloween. Or anything on TV late at night when my husband is out of town.

3. Bobbing for apples: choose one and discuss:
a) Nothing scary about that! Good wholesome fun.
b) Are you *kidding* me?!? The germs, the germs!

Germs! Germs! Noooooo! I do remember the thrill of bobbing for apples at a boy-girl party in third grade, though, with a redhaired boy named Patrick. Good times.

4. Real-life phobia

See # 3 (germs). I'm working on it though.

5. Favorite "ghost story"

I'm partial to a book my kids like, with several different stories in it, especially the one about the girl with the green ribbon around her neck. A boy falls in love with her, but she will never tell him why she wears the ribbon around her neck. They marry and grow old together (this is why I like it), and she still won't tell him why she always wears the green ribbon around her neck. When they are very old, and she is on her deathbed, she finally tells him he can take the ribbon off. And her head falls off. We love that one.

Hi. Welcome to RGBP! Love the pre-schoolers and sand story!
I have done pre-schoolers, sand and balloons. Not so certain the writeres of our curriculms ever try this stuff out with preschoolers; least not mine!
We had to fill ballons with sand blow them up slightly and decorate as Listneing Lucy/ Larry.
Yes, one little child's balloon popped and the tears flowed.
Also, they wear suppossed to have wings, but no ears. Didi nto make sense so I adapted the wings into ears. How can one listne with wings, not ears?

Perhaps I need a ribbon to keep my head attached to my shoulders! Welcometo RevGals!

Welcome to the RevGals ring! Think I'm going to avoid doing the sand thing with the preschoolers in church...

Welcome queen mum! I've always liked the ribbon story too.

I want to leave comments on all your stories and maybe I'll get time after tonight's bible study.

But I am sure writers of curriculum don't try them out and/or don't think about environmental differences. My first VBS I was stumped trying to find fallen tree branches in So Florida - I was real sure they didn't mean to make a burning bush out of palm fronds! Ended up at Michael's buying fakes :-)

Hello and welcome to Rev...Pals! We're sure glad to have ya'.

I have a son who is 4, and I can't WAIT until a few Halloweens from now, when he'll be just old enough for me to tell the head-falls-off green ribbon story!

Thanks for joining up and good luck in the setting out... It is a worthy thing to use words for the airing out of one's soul. Bon voyage!
