Friday Five

From the RevGalBlogPals site:

What are you:

1. Wearing
Denim skirt, bright turquoise and pink paisley shirt, sandals. It's HOT in my office, and I just snuck in to write a little. Expect to see no one. Need to get a fan.

2. Pondering
What the heck is in the ceiling outside my office? There is something scratching around up there, and letting out these chirps that sound like a bird, but might be a squirrel. We had a bird in the sanctuary yesterday, who had come to an untimely demise, and we are afraid there are baby birds somewhere that she left behind. Okay. The thing in the hallway is getting closer. I am not a girl who freaks out at mice and whatnot, but when you don't know what it is, and there is no one else here.....well...the imagination is a powerful thing.

3. Reading
For the sermon: All of the Women of the Bible by Edith Deen, an old book I found in the church library that has, seriously, every woman in the Bible in it.

For pleasure (again): Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott

4. Dreaming
Of lazy summer days at the beach, with no responsibilities. Of a clean and ordered house. Of free time with WonderBoy, SuperGirl and Mr. Incredible. Of my mom's chemo coming to an end and my surgeries being over, and our family being DONE with cancer. And end war-poverty-mental illness-and-greed. But mostly the beach, I admit.

5. Eating
Pistachio nuts, and drinking cold citrus green tea.

Bird by Bird is on my list of top ten bestest, most favoritest books ever. I love Anne Lamott - and just got my copy of Grace (Eventually) today. Woo hoo!

May all your dreams come true!

My building is old and has window AC units. The birds and squirrels have been chewing thru the outside housing and ... living there. Making all the noises that living creatures make. It's highly entertaining, when it is not miserably embarrassing.

I have that Edith Deen book! I think my godmother gave me her copy, years and years ago.
I hope your dreams will come true, Queen Mum.
